If you need one more thing to worry about and are still using Internet Explorer as your browser of choice, there’s another flaw that’s now affecting IE6, IE7, and IE8 on Windows XP and IE7 and IE8 on Vista and Windows 7. I read where Google is planning on providing Internet service for up to 500,000 people at speeds of 1 GB per second, so fast that users could download a high-definition movie in five minutes. Seems other providers are not at all concerned with the competition, but that led a market researcher, Michael Gartenberg, to say what I think wins the award for outstanding quote of the week:
With Google in a market it’s as though the 800-pound gorilla jumps in the pool. You don’t know if it can swim. But you do know it’s going to make a big splash.
